The Nurse Practitioners (NP) at Dallas Neurosurgical and Spine (DNS) collaborate with individual surgeons at DNS, blending the best of their considerable medical education and training with nursing disciplines to provide our patients with the highest possible level of care. Our NPs are one of the key reasons our patients report an extremely high level of satisfaction with the individualized care they receive.
A Nurse Practitioner is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) who, beyond their registered nurse preparation, have obtained a graduate-level degree and completed clinical training in the diagnosis and management of both common and complex medical conditions. Nurse Practitioners hold national certification in an area of specialization and are licensed through nursing boards.
The Nurse Practitioners at DNS have additional education and training to assist our physicians during surgical procedures and have extensive operating room experience.
Once a new patient has been seen and evaluated by his or her physician, our Nurse Practitioners often serve as a patient's primary contact for any ongoing issues or concerns.
